Quad cart

A four-wheel dog wheelchair or quad cart is used for problems of the four legs. These problems may be of neurological or orthopedic origin.

Use of a four wheel dog wheelchair

A four-wheel dog wheelchair is used, among other things, for problems of the four legs: paralysis, in Degenerative myelopathy, after a hernia, after knee and/or hip surgery, after elbow surgery, ataxia.... in short, in orthopedic or neurological problems of the four legs.

This four wheel dog wheelchair or quad cart can be rented

We have some rental four-wheel dog wheelchairs in stock that we can fully adapt to your dog and that you can then rent temporarily (minimum 1 month). This way you can try out whether a four-wheel dog wheelchair is something for you and your dog.

The four-wheel dog wheelchair is best picked up at Pro4paws, in Geel, where we set the right sizes for your dog.

How does the rental of a four wheel dog wheelchair or quad cart work?

The rental is 115€ (V.A.T. exclusive) per month. This amount is requested monthly to be paid by invoice.  This amount is deposited into the account number of Pro4Paws with the mention: “structured communication” (found on the invoice).

Furthermore, a deposit of 150€ is requested, this deposit will be refunded as soon as the dog wheelchair is returned in good condition in Geel.

When the dog wheelchair is returned in good condition before the new rental invoice, the rental agreement is automatically stopped. And the deposit will be refunded when the dog wheelchair is brought in in good condition.

Buying a four-wheel dog wheelchair or quad cart?

For this, we need to take a measurement of your dog. If you have already rented a four-wheel dog wheelchair, then we already have your dog's measurements on file.  You will then continue to use the rented dog wheelchair until the new dog wheelchair has arrived at Pro4paws.

Four-wheel wheelchair or quad cart for small dogs

Recently we also have in the rental range a mini four-wheel dog wheelchair. Here you can see Nina with her little four-wheeler:

Nina is a Pug of 13 years she weighs 4.6kg and has a shoulder height of 24cm. She suffers from Syringomyelia. I also had to look it up but apparently it means: a cavity formation in the spinal cord, in Nina's case it is at the level of nerve conduction of the front legs. Because of this she can't use her front legs (almost) functionally. Today they came here for consultation to ask if there is anything I can do for her to make her more mobile. Because the stability of the front legs is not enough, she keeps falling with her legs open, and then she can't get up without help.

I then set to work with a four-wheel wheelchair to give her support. And what a result, I did not expect (and certainly did not dare to hope).

Does this disease/disorder hurt? Apparently there are 3 groups in this disease, the pain dogs with excruciating pain, the itch dogs that scratch and itch incessantly and the 3rd rarer group that has neurological failure on the front legs. They have little to no pain.
